OUR BEIT MIDRASH

Our newly opened Beit Midrash is both a center for study and a sacred haven—crafted to inspire learning, reflection, and prayer. Flooded with natural light, the space offers a versatile layout that transforms with purpose: it can function as a traditional hevruta (partnered learning) environment, where narrow, elongated tables invite deep engagement with Jewish texts, or be reconfigured as a synagogue, with seating oriented eastward toward the Old City of Jerusalem—fostering a powerful sense of spiritual connection and continuity.

This tranquil environment is ideal for focused study, meditative prayer, or intimate religious milestones such as Bar and Bat Mitzvah ceremonies. Here, within this thoughtfully crafted sanctuary, visitors are invited to immerse themselves in Jewish learning and tradition, deepening their connection to the enduring values of wisdom, coexistence, and spiritual growth that echo throughout the Museum.

Where Spirituality Meets Architectural Mastery

At the spiritual heart of the Museum stands a magnificent sculptural Ark and Bima—a contemporary take on ancient Jewish tradition, rising like a living flame. Crafted from warm wood, it houses the sacred Torah scrolls and symbolizes the eternal light of wisdom that has guided Jewish thought for millennia. Behind it, the “Wall of Zion” features an intricate pattern of perforations that evoke both flames and the stones of Jerusalem’s historic walls, connecting worshippers eastward to the Holy City. The Sephardic Torah scroll, encased in ornate silver, symbolizes Jewish values and the Tree of Life, inviting all to engage with its timeless teachings. Finally, a graceful white spiral staircase physically embodies the Jewish concept of spiritual ascent, leading visitors to the mezzanine, where they can pause for reflection and connection or house more guests for their special event.

Together, these elements create a living, breathing space that honors tradition while embracing the present—inviting every visitor to connect deeply with Jewish heritage, spirituality, and community. The Beit Midrash stands not only as a place of learning but as a beacon of hope, unity, and ongoing discovery.
