Exploring Buildings and People: A Journey Between Identities
What secrets lie behind the stone façade of the historic Plaza Hotel? What happens when an industrial building is given new life as a space for community creativity? And how did the YMCA building become one of the city’s symbols of interfaith encounters?
This new tour takes visitors through authentic Jerusalem spaces where questions of conflict, memory, and tolerance are still visible in the urban landscape. From the long-forgotten neighborhood of Camp Israel to the interfaith landmark of the YMCA, from the striking architecture of the Plaza Hotel to the beauty of Jerusalem’s Yemin Moshe neighborhood, the tour introduces sites that tell the story of a city shaped by the intersection of cultures, religions, and communities.
Moving between locations that reflect encounters between different groups, the tour offers a fresh perspective on Jerusalem and on the shared life within it. The tour departs from the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem and concludes in the Yemin Moshe neighborhood.
