Repairing Together: Shavuot Night of Learning and Listening

Running from late evening into the early morning, the event sought to create a space for respectful, honest, and compassionate conversation within Israeli society. The museum was alive with curiosity and openness, as diverse voices shared ideas for personal and collective healing.

Throughout the night:
– Yair Sherki, journalist and media commentator, explored the potential for repair in the world of public discourse, urging a media culture rooted in truth, integrity, and hope.
– Miriam Peretz, Israel Prize laureate, offered a heartfelt reading of the Book of Ruth, revealing how Ruth’s journey embodied transformation, identity, and the power of choice.
– Jackie Levi, author and performer, spoke about the very idea of “Tikkun” (repair) as a story of second chances, and how storytelling itself can be a vehicle for personal and social redemption.
– Rabbi Avraham Stav, of Tzohar, reflected on the tension between unity and compromise, and how real dialogue requires courage without losing one’s values.

The night culminated in a shared walk to the Western Wall for a festive Shacharit prayer — a symbolic and beautiful blend of tradition and innovation, connection and inclusion.
